Just to help clarify: Obama/Hillary/Biden are the term "neoliberal", a kind of mild right wing (on the scale of world politics) with posturing of empty progressive stances. Sanders is a bit more left, but was the COMPROMISE of actual leftists. "Libertarian" can be left or right.

You're assuming leftists are Democrats, it looks like. Leftists don't like the Democrats either, as a party. And anyway the only "rights" that actual leftists want to "take away" are abilities to systematically deny rights to others. That's what conservatives have in place.

All it means is "ingrained in society." The "left" is mainly concerned about improving conditions for everyone in a society, not just people who are benefiting already. To do that, we must look at the big picture: the "system", or how laws and social norms dictate the status quo.

No, the Democrats run these cities, and they also fund the corrupt police forces. The actual left is fed up with the inaction and is protesting. The police are escalating, and the people are responding accordingly to bring about change. The cities burn because there is injustice.

Honestly, "what does that make the Democrats?" is a valid question. As a party, they just uphold status quo and try to appeal to "moderates" (people who can afford to not take action). But the police problem is mainly within itself. Their priority is not the safety of the public.

Okay, I'm not going to delude myself into thinking I can say much to make you not believe this in the way you do, since it's something you need to experience more directly, perhaps. So if anyone else reading this has a particularly good thing to say, go for it.
