Maybe instead of wishing violence on this desperate man stealing a trash bag full of items from one of the biggest chains in the country, we could prevent it by investing in communities instead of carcereal punishment. If you think stealing is bad google “civil asset forfeiture”.

SF has been “investing in the community” in the context you mean for a decade now & this is the result of that. Stealing is stealing regardless of who the victim is & the reason this continues to happen here is because people have been taught there are no consequences for it.

COVID has taught us to avoid conflict at all cases. We can’t tell someone to put on a mask. We can’t tell someone not to steal. In my book, violating mask ordinances and robbing a pharmacy are equally bad.
