Loved the section in Feynmann's book where he discussed decision making on one of the projects. Nobody felt the need to re state their position, the aim was to find the best solution.

I like how platforms like
@KialoHQ turn “debate” from a pick-your-side event into “pile up all the points for and against an assertion”. I usually still call it debate, but I can see the negative connotation. -
That's why we on-site call it discussion, we consider it more of a collaborative reasoning platform, but then some argued to call it debate. Both words have their merit, debate often being considered more structured, but unfortunately also more antagonistic with a winning side.
