I finally jotted down my reasons for supporting the campaign to recall #SanFrancisco DA @chesaboudin:
"The liberal-leaning case for the recall of SF DA Chesa Boudin" https://dotben.medium.com/the-liberal-leaning-case-for-the-recall-of-sf-da-chesa-boudin-3a56f8eb8d26 …

Ben. Do you also think DAs shouldn’t become defense attorneys?

I think people with strong personal beliefs shouldn't take roles that are incompatible with the expectation of said role. Scott Pruitt, a climate denier, shouldn't have become head of EPA. Chesa shouldn't be DA, even if I actually like some of his stances. It's systems theory.

I don’t think you know that much about Chesa or the crim system. My clients are not just walking free. They are in front of judges and the offers are for prison in serious cases. Systems theory doesn’t mean much when you don’t understand the system.

But that's selection bias. How often are you retained by a client who DA is not going to prosecute? How often are genuine repeat criminals not even being arrested, you don't see those either. I'm not saying *no one* is being prosecuted, and of course you see those folks who are.

This just shows your ignorance. I am often hired by clients before charges are filed. Sometimes they are charged sometimes not. This is true across bay counties. In regards to people that aren’t arrested - write a medium piece on SFPD because that’s all on them.
