woke up to this heroic PR https://github.com/urbit/arvo/pull/1072 …
@pcmonk, which, ~zod willing, will connect us againShow this thread -
Indeed appears to fix connectivity! To apply: (1) run `|mount /=base=` in your dojo (2) pull the latest arvo master branch: `git checkout master; git pull` (3) copy all the files over: `cp -r /path/to/arvo/* /path/to/ship/base/` (4) wait for kernel reset (5) run `|bonk` in dojo

I'm running a planet on my VPS. I've tried running ;join ~dopzod/urbit-help from talk on the command line and `go ~dopzod/urbit-help` from the command palette on the web interface. Nothing seems to happen. Am I missing something?
-
No. This is normal, for now at least. At some unspecifiable point comms will work, until then.. learn Hoon!

This may be a daft question - but, running Urbit on a Mac, are there ports that should be opened or other settings outside of Urbit that need to be done for a connection to be made?
-
I don't think this is neccessary

idk man, can't connect. it's not even telling me "~dopzod not responding still trying"
-
Same for me. I restarted the ship and got a single "~dopzod is ok" message but that's it. .^(tank %b /=timers=) shows that I've only got one timer for acme and none for ames, so somehow ames isn't setting a timer.
