Why are we putting other black women / women of colour on the spot (tagging them here) to feel obligated to say something? This is truly incredible of Zinzi, and I admire her for making this very difficult step. But I don't think we need to call out others to do the same.

because they keep normalizing her and refusing to see her hipster racism as a problem.

i say this with love: this is highly presumptuous, and irresponsible. WoC and BW are not normalizing whiteness & racism. existing w/i a racist state normalizes racism. check who you're putting blame on here beloved.

This hit home so hard for me because, as an aspiring writer, and one of color, it’s hard enough to know which pubs will accept your work for what it is. But I feel so much more empowered by your statement, thank you zinzi!
