Tech companies are rapidly normalizing, becoming regular old giant businesses. Saying one thing publicly while lobbying or suing aggressively against privacy protections... Unless restraint and ethics are institutionalized, those big "meet the boss" events will mean even less.

Anglo American culture is concerned about individual privacy but most of the world is not. Chinese culture has different demands as does Indian culture. Over time, Anglo American cultural demands will have reduced impact because we don't have as many people.
