Those play-by-play gossipy stories that appear newsy but aren't? (What was his mood? Who said what?) Besides being a distraction and taking up news oxygen, to write them, you gotta suck up to those close to power who will then leak to you. That, not the jokes, is the issue.

This gossipy "reporting" is a continuation how mass media failed before the election. We'd be better without day-by-day "reporting" from the White House. That effort could/should go to actual journalism. Short update on who resigned/replaced once a week is plenty. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
