Isn't that mainly a predictive claim about who will write history and how — not a claim about the truth? Of course, as they already do, authoritarian govts will blame uncensored social media.

at least when i was there (long ago!) their reason for small country experiments was to have a fairly standalone subnetwork, and it turns out countries are a very good way to pick out this type of subnet. then small instead of large countries to affect fewer people than globally
