I understand your sentiments however people like that need to be understood so that others (who are still alive) can be helped. After all we live in a society where we all take responsibility for us all.

Seems facile. Not obvious the YouTube shooter was so calculating or cared in the least about the NY Times (a media-centric view). She wanted to make her point to the people who work at YouTube, and unfortunately she did that. NYT did a good job portraying her warped soul.

I could be wrong but I feel in the past media (eg in Oakland) had put moratoriums on over-reporting / profiling on gang violence for the same reason - that it perpetuates it. Wonder why that hasn’t kicked in here...
