Everything cruel & stupid about healthcare/pain policies all in one: cut-off long-term old/disabled opioids users (most likely to have legitimate need) who may now turn to street drugs?✅ Do little to address initial overprescription & recreational use? ✅ https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/27/health/opioids-medicare-limits.html …pic.twitter.com/m3NHF92Xvs

Cruel *and* stupid. Elderly/disabled who (1) have long-term addiction will be forced to taper off too fast; or (2) have legitimate need will be forced to choose between severe pain or street drugs. Likely result: uptick in overdoses (from street drugs) and suicides (from pain).

I have a theory marijuwana legislation lobby might be behind this and whole war on prescription opioids to increase their market and need /some cancers and bone injuries need long term opioids

I am not by any means an expert on this, but I'm not convinced marijuana is worse for pain management than opioids

That’s one of the reasons for the increase in heroin usage: people in severe chronic pain are cut off from access to legal pain medication due to ever-increasing irrational (and inhumane) govt regulations on opioid pain relievers.

We must also question governmental desire 2 make Kratom a controlled substance, despite yrs of independent research that indicate it is a safe & effective source of pain relief. Is the govt hand-in-glove w/Big Pharma & working 2 protect their profits instead of citizens’ health?
