Your employer was selling bump stocks online until two weeks ago. Ethics is hard when there is no accountability. https://twitter.com/lizthegrey/status/975186326894055425 …

I mean...he could have NOT put a marginalized person on blast with screenshots. I don't really see how his other work is related to that choice.

it's kinda funny, of all the folks in that extremely ratio'ed thread, you responded to the one who took a 60% paycut and walked away from half a million dollars in stock to work at a nonprofit last year. I'm super sympathetic to burnout, but it's an explanation, not an excuse.

Many of the early Tech Solidarity meetings in NY straight up wouldn't have happened without Liz's (stretched very thin!) energy and effort. <3 and respect all around but I'm with Leigh here.

Dampen and extend sympathy, then. Online bickering isn’t good for anyone here and has crashed and burned many a movement. Backchannel, face-to-face, human to human is where one resolves tensions. Insults like that are easy but not right.

I’ve never met Liz—so she’s not a friend—and I also appreciate much of the work
@Pinboard has been doing. That said, his strategy of holding the most vulnerable & politically active employees responsible for decisions they have no voice in @ a 90k+ employee company is not cool. -
I’ve met her. I don’t doubt she’s doing what she can, as she sees right. I went & looked at her thread after it was pointed out. She politely explained her decision. Maciej disagrees. Okay. I have opinions, too, but biggest one is to remember everyone here is human & frustrated
