Is there any data on whether people feel manipulated themselves? It would be interesting to see how much of this is that we think other people's views are irrational & propaganda-shaped v how far we feel our own views are/were misled.

I dont have specific data Emily but, as someone who specifically seeks out argumentation/disputation on FB I would say that the vast majority would most certainly deny being manipulated in any way shape or form.

Yes, I am concerned the evolution of social media algorithms far outpace our ability to adapt with our laws, sense of morality and skepticism. I wonder if fee/subscription based social media models can succeed... I wish they could...
