There are many people who cannot get immunized, and depend on “herd immunity”—aka us. It’s not too late to get a flu shot. Don’t obsess whether it protects one fully. Not the sole point.pic.twitter.com/HFiHmT1689

Flu is going to kill more people than many of the threats which dominate the headlines, and there are many of the most vulnerable people who don’t have the option of immunization. An immunized population is their sole protection.https://twitter.com/ecoinomia/status/953051472761114624 …
Like the article mentions, the downside is really low. On balance, the absolute risk getting lowered makes the payout worthwhile.
It takes up to 2 week for flu shot to reach full strength. I neglected mine this year and paid a high price already. GET THE FLU SHOT—I wouldn’t wish this strain on anyone.
This shot may be weak against this strain but... still worth getting the shot. Some won't get the shot because it isn't the best match this year. Wrong idea. I hope you feel better soon!
Totally got half my department to get their flu shot ('cause seriously no one wants the flu..), but this year's predictions were unusually off.. 10% effective :(. Usually ~40%. At least one person who got the shot still ended up with a strain... in NYC tho, so not too shocking..
Yup: it’s a community health issue
I kept hearing how ineffective this year’s shot was, and didn’t bother getting it. Learned a painful lesson while suffering through a 104 degree fever on my only vacation this year. Thankfully my wife works in a hospital and got her shot - not so much as a sniffle from her.
I got one!
