Very often, there is funding for blue state, even non-competitive races and people don't show up to fund competitive races elsewhere. The right, however, often does this top-down, billionaires end up funding electoral infrastructure. No real left version.

When I travel, the most common refrain I hear from progressive, especially first-time candidates that are springing up everywhere is.. they can't hire field or GOTV which you need to do know for 2018. Right version=already building this infrastructure for many many years.
