NYT will survive, but local journalism cannot and that is causing unchecked corruption at the local level to trickle up, as the bench gets more and more third-world style corrupt. Okay, I'm gonna stop. Huge issue.

yeah, absolutely, agree, craigslist etc. I don't even know why anything targeted would remain in print anymore. Paper ad is more like a statement, we care about you... Facebook ads in print about fake news, for example. It just means "we care, thanks".

I worked for a publication and also consulted for an ad-tech startup and *everybody in publishing* knows this. We have not yet replaced the way we fund journalism...so journalism no longer gets funded.
