So TIL that Farian did the intro percussive riff to Daddy Cool by tapping on his teeth with a pencil. https://www.revolvy.com/main/index.php?s=Daddy%20Cool%20(single)&item_type=topic … (My fave of this genre remains Buckingham credit for playing a "Kleenex box" in Tusk.)

The Greensleeves tune is used in Christian churches. It was an old British song about prostitutes. Prostitutes wore green sleeves.

Um, Greensleeves was written by Henry VIII about a girl he had plans for.

Farian, the songwriter & man who put together the group, was West German. Lots of émigrés Russian/Turkish influences in the ‘70s.
-
That helps explain why they drop German words here and there!
