People asked: the tree is at the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. Enchanted is the only word I can muster for the area.
Before grad school I spent two years teaching at a science camp in the Henry Cowell Redwoods. We nicknamed that one the Flying Buttress Tree. It's a magical place.
It really was. Still visions in my head kind of place. Also, a fascinating olfactory experience, too, the area, the fog... I can go on and on and on...
Did you see the albino redwood just outside the main loop? That's the one that always blows me away.
