Microphones and cameras are invasive technologies, and to the degree them come integrated, there should be a hardware off switch. Nuts.

Shouldn't be too hard to do. You can buy it as components easily.

Mine is a nice "old" stereo system (tuner, wired speakers etc) plugged into a TV with a first gen Chromecast. TV is the Aux. Works amazing.

Sonos works nicely, even on their mic enabled cloud model one there is a hw switch to turn that part off.
