This is a huge problem. Narrative is more interesting (clicks), and seems too many journalists would like to write novels more than news.

This was a big problem before the 2016 election (false narrative turns & minor gossip buried real news). It continues. Not learned lessons.

That's also why many went so hard with the Comey letter. Clinton was seen as sure to win, so needed big "conflict" to drive story forward.

Trump did a deal because he gets his rocks off by doing deals FULL STOP If the Dems could peel off enough GOP votes, they could do wonders.

Because of the Hastert rule, GOP gets nothing done. Ryan could do deals all day long if he abandoned archaic & damaging rule.
