Although I agree that it’s troubling if $160M can’t be accounted for, I don’t think we should characterize it as rent on an “as-is” product.
Now more than ever, software requires constant maintenance just to stay current with the surrounding ecosystem, and that costs real $$.
Most IT people, in NYC at least, are addicted to Microsoft, just like they were to IBM back in the 1980s. Also the “Apple is a toy” mantra
