Seriously, this from Google help isn't even true. Absolutely use security keys *AND* an iPhone. And you can use authenticator as backup.pic.twitter.com/bEE1bwtmfe

Emblematic of Silicon Valley mindset. U2F is a brilliant protocol; security keys are great. Once created, barely any attention to users/use.

Security keys are a protection against phishing. On your iPhone, you secure your PHONE and then using the app without security key is fine.
