This can be done; it can't be done on the cheap. It's not okay to be so profitable, and then abandon world's critical infrastructure.
Also, people want "it" to work. They want their operating system to work.
I get they are better (Though the privacy-security trade-off sucks. My Win 10 desktop advertises to me now. Of course people worry).
Many organizations can't patch because they don't have IT budget. Windows XP worked fine for them. Shouldn't be forced expensive upgrade.
