surely saying "the reporting was overkill" is not the same as saying "this wasn't newsworthy and didn't merit any reporting"

My argument has never been don't report newsworthy events. But the context is important. Enormous amount of gossip got "reported."

But surely, hacking internal docs of only one party up and down the ballot and turning that over to competitors is a form of sabotage.
