The suggestion that all coverage of Clinton @wikileaks was trivial ignores serious reporting that utilized emails. https://www.buzzfeed.com/zeyneptufekci/dear-france-you-just-got-hacked-dont-make-the-same-mistakes?utm_term=.iipGOdayBp#.tfDj38G1A0 …

Serious reporting was the exception. Politico ran a gossip blog, updated every day, based on the hack. And mostly ignored real story.

There was a viral misinformation campaign online; barely reported. Political sabotage up and down the ballot aimed at one party: ignored.

Meanwhile, your outlet, along with most others, filled page after page with trivia and gossip right before a consequential election.

The ask isn't cover Clinton favorably. It is: focus on important stories, for both candidates, and don't just report what you are led to.

incorrect on several fronts: 1)we did real investigative reporting using
@wikileaks, for ex: http://www.politico.com/story/2016/11/clinton-foundation-morocco-marrakech-230717 …http://www.politico.com/story/2016/07/dnc-leak-clinton-team-deflected-state-cash-concerns-226191 …4 replies 1 retweet 7 likes -
2) we weren't "led" to these stories by
@wikileaks. we'd done previous exposes on subjects: http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/05/clintons-morocco-117979 … http://www.politico.com/story/2016/04/clinton-fundraising-leaves-little-for-state-parties-222670 …3 replies 0 retweets 7 likes -
3) but
@wikileaks emails shed new light on the (important) subjects, including that Clintons & their allies misled us. Seems worth noting.3 replies 1 retweet 11 likes -

Not my point. I said there were *a few* good stories. Gossip reporting, including by Politico, overwhelmed them. Misinfo campaign: ignored.

One political party got internals hacked up and down the ballot (not just Clinton) and given to competitors. Only covered after the election

How many pieces did Politico run on Trump conflict of interests compared to the running WL gossip blog they updated every single day?

Important, crucial stuff got buried or ignored. A few good stories (which I start by saying exist) doesn't undo this level of negligence.
