lol? its very possible. Step 1. Have a brain. Step 2. Read warning dialogs. I agree it should have icons or something, but it won't matter.

There was no warning dialogue. The brain said Google Docs was asking for permissions. Jeez. It wasn't phishing. Really, jeez.

There was a warning. It asked for ridiculous permissions.

That is NOT a warning. "Google" asking you permission is not a warning. This misguided and wrong attitude is why security fails so often.

Docs asking for access to your email is not normal workflow. Ever seen Word ask for access to Outlook? That wouldn't be a red flag to you?

I have seen so many programs ask for access to so many things that if you have the finite catalog one can check against, please do share.

So you're not paying attention to dialogs, then, because "lots of stuff asks for stuff". Good argument.

The auth request came from Google! I mean this: your attitude is not just misplaced; it lies at the heart of the security crisis.

You're mistaking my saying the behavior was identifiably odd for it's obviously odd. It's not. But the failure is not Google's alone.

Google failed to protect app names; Users failed to read the dialog and process the context.

I don't know how on earth users were supposed to know that "Google" shouldn't be authorized. Don't know what else to say.

If Google asks you to jump off a bridge, would you do it?
