There is a surge, but it is tiny, teeny compared to what has happened, what is at stake, and what the right has funded for decades.

if the expectation is that in 3-4 months left would match what right has funded for decades, that seems off, no?

The donor class could have easily coughed up what's necessary to push local organizing quickly. They didn't. They aren't panicked.

A lot of that is grassroots donations, too. Ppl are trying; those with enormous means sitting on their hands, mostly, compared to potential.

that's fair, altho would say that not all funding is disclosed & there has to be capacity to handle mass $ for local organizing. is there?

There is huge grassroots energy, and I get dumping money will lead to inefficiencies and waste. Now is not the time to worry about that.

If the donor class was properly panicked, they'd drop metrics talk and efficiency blah blah and fund. There is a time for that. Not now.

You must be aware of how the donor class is vilified by the far left as corporate shills. Purity demands rejection of big $$ donations.

the donor class can probably manage get over hurt feelings and just pour money into local organizing.

they probably could; not sure there's a lot of capacity for managing that $ on the left, particularly in GOP-dominated places.

It's a bootstrap problem. Put the money in, some will be wasted but some turns into capacity.

right, but in places where left has been ignored & lacking resources for years, who gets the money?
