Not for women; and if you were going to omit weights, the higher end makes more sense. Using 50lbs=better positioned for body weight.
It's especially frustrating because the small weights are cheap! You could buy a rack of 5-pounders for the price of two 50's.
I lift heavy, but there are shoulder exercises that I need 10 and 12lb weights for.
15lbs is about where my GF started training. Anything less than that is too light except for very high rep sets, even for untrained women.
She might have actually started at 10lbs for shoulder press movements but everything else I'm sure was at least 15.
