I will agree Linux has usability issues, but those have gotten better over the years. The Electronic Freedom Foundation guide I linked helps

You might look at the EFF's mission. They're dedicated to helping people protect their privacy, especially in totalitarian regimes.

I'm trying to say I'm not some open source zealot trying to promote Linux above all else. I linked to a doc put together by privacy experts.

I acknowledge & empathize with your frustration with Linux usability. Some bugs aren't fixed fast, but security vulnerabilities are.

I agree that Linux does have usability problems & that means people don't use it. I hope we can fix those by having people test & file bugs.

Open source has a horrible rep for wanting to attract coders instead of UX & graphics devs & testers. I want to help that by encouraging ppl

But I really can't bring in usability testers in with internships through Outreachy if misinformation spreads about security vulnerabilities

No. That's not good advice, sorry. Open Source unfortunately is not more secure; just much less well defended.

It's now visible only to our mutual followers and i'm happy to help recruit security and ux people but... we are where we are.
