Send an email to zeynep at http://technosociology.org  with one short para and (if exists) a writing sample and we'll draw a name. That's it.

I can't really recommend writing as a primary career, but I do think we desperately need broader range of people writing on tech.

And if you are going to write, and pitch, it helps to learn the craft and how the game is played. Hence the workshop. It's a good one.

So if you're an emerging writer (or know someone) trying to break into writing on tech and society, send them this thread. Two scholarships.

Hope to support ppl writing not on tech as in gadget reviews but how data, algorithms, connectivity, surveillance, AI, etc. affect society.

Diversity in intellectuals who shape our thinking on tech isn't a feel good thing. Limited life experience=narrowness & poverty of thought.
