Use WhatsApp or Signal on your iOs device, with keyboard if you want, not on desktop. Desktop is too big an attack surface. Hard to secure.

Remember, systems are as weak as weakest point. Encryption is a strong lock. Browser is house with windows left open. Lock can't undo this.

Software has bugs; inevitable. Not every bug and exploit has the same impact for surveillance, and browser and app should be differentiated.

protonmail, fine, I guess but email is just generally not secure and I haven't seen protonmail vouched by independently.
