If you want to secure the vast majority of devices, then we need the Signal/Whatsapp equivalent. Secure enclave a start.

Well, yes and no. Secure enclave is a start but I do want off switches for device mikes and radios. (Can cover cameras).

Secure enclave does a different thing; separates stuff from kernel etc. Great. But wifi and mikes used to have switches!

Secure enclave on new MBPs locks the camera and light together. No longer “possible” to turn on camera w/o green light.

That is great. Still, many may not notice the green light. It's my device, I want to literally physically off the power.
