Google's own ChromeOS and Android disclosure and update pace is great. Third parties vendors mostly don't update, sure.

It makes more sense to refer to devices since anything other than Nexus/Pixel is running a vendor fork, not a Google OS.

IOS has a faster release cycle; more frequent updates. I assume that was the point. Both now have encryption by default.

Androids that are doing their own mods of the OS take longer to upgrade. It's a right mess, but some models are better than others.
