More inappropriate weight gradations in hotel gyms. Yet another 5-10-15-20..-40-45-50. Should increase by percent. Esp. bad for women. aarghpic.twitter.com/a6NVcAvwEy
There should probably be more weights at the lower end, (5 to 6) but the five-pound gradations work well at the upper end...
exactly my point. Serves mostly men; discourages women lifting. 40 to 45 is 12.5%. Great. Where is 12.5? 17.5?
for small muscle groups like rear delt flies, even a relatively strong male would have trouble jumping from 10 to 15.
I spend a lot of time encouraging women to lift. Then they go to a gym. The weights are in appropriate. The advice is worse.
They're sent to the pink dumbbells, caps out at five lbs. Someone says, "tone don't bulk". Do a zillion crunches, no dumbbells.
Yeah, also probably not going to bulk (generally) without doing something to quadruple your testosterone...just going to . . . tone.
Yes! Ppl have no idea how hard it is for women to "bulk". Won't happen! Meanwhile, they're lifting 2lbs and doing 200 crunches..
I learned this stuff via basement gyms & research papers. The amount of disinfo compared to the science & practice is so much...
