No idea if Sanders could have won. This was a razor-thin election. Clinton almost won. There is no realignment. Yet. https://twitter.com/CoralSeason8/status/796714617732898816 …

I can't RT this enough. "Data journalism" has misled lots of people, as they developed their "factiness" over truth. http://nathanjurgenson.com/post/152938927255/factiness …pic.twitter.com/MPWIpCyvgL

You can't understand the very real economic despair of much of US with unemployment numbers just like you can't measure racism with polls.

I keep saying it's a razor-thin coalition, and if people keep dismissing the most peelable portion, it will grow. https://twitter.com/berkfran/status/796720657895657472 …

Also, Trump lost ~half of white women, won half. (Polls have margin of error). All the articles are "Trump won white women!" Self-sabotage.

Trump got huge 16% swing from under $30K voters. And 10% who APPROVE of Obama voted for Trump: nationally 5%. Margin in razor-thin election.pic.twitter.com/HXupN3Bvqa

Averages will mislead. You need to look at who changed their votes after voting for Obama—and their econ trajectory.https://twitter.com/fawfulfan/status/796860599225434114 …

Republican coalition always had more high-income: hence higher averages. What is key is what changed: Trump peeled off some poorer people.

I suspect Trump won not so much because he peeled off Obama supporters but because '08, '12 Obama supporters stayed home.

Both appears to have happened in large enough numbers in multiple states.

But nationwide, Trump got fewer voters than McCain and Romney in '08 and '12. Clinton just didn't inspire the turnout Obama did.
