Well, we view the Nazis (a period I'm obsessed with) through a historical lens as if there was no politics then.

But there was politics then, and left acted like any conciliation with social democrats was same as Nazis.

Absolute lack of thinking thru the next few steps, finding ways to undermine a growing fringe got us the Nazis.

The retaliation talk was the scariest I had seen. We lost three students last year to hate-crime. It's .. an issue. Sadly.
