The economic component to cultural component of racism goes back to day zero. What is slavery but economic plunder justified by racism?

Racist scapegoating is obviously not the only possible response to downtown in economic fortunes. And obviously very well-off racists exist.

But often, a demagogue comes along and says "I'll make government work for [your superior] race to lift up your kids." Historically common.

In fact, this scenario is so typical that its almost boring analytically. But you won't get story from regression only to current income.

Sure—this all can't be "reduced" to economic fortunes either. But either "all this" OR "all that" argument is exercise in strawman knocking.

I don’t think it’s all one or the other. But racism is baked in, persists during good econ times, and effects more harmful.

even all the talk about the working class this election is only about the white working class, as if there is no other.

POC aren’t recognized/allowed to have economic anxiety. Maybe status anxiety captures what I see better than economic anxiety.

Not sure why you say POC aren't allowed to have economic anxiety. De-industrialization helped decimate inner cities.

if you look at media and what’s been talked about in election, it’s all white working class. Sanders,Trump both about wwc.

I disagree. You may not like Sanders but that he was just talking about the white working class is ... just not true.

In fact, wow. That is a really weird claim. Sanders coalition also included large numbers of POC; esp. young ones.

you can find interviews with him just prior to his run where he specifically talked about wwc. He wanted to get them back from GOP.

How is that a bad thing? I'd hope that's a Clinton aim, too. That doesn't make his campaign about the wwc.
