Also there are still people who don't work with a Turkish speaker making claims about the "AKP emails"—and Wikileaks claiming "fabrication"!

Given the number of long-form pieces out there; I'm no longer trying to sort the deliberate from the obtuse. Will put link to the pieces.

New "AKP" emails by Wikileaks is misrepresented—just like old batch; see above. But it has more malware. *slow clap*https://twitter.com/RonDeibert/status/764873239692804097 …

This claim is false. These emails have little to do with "Turkey's political structure." Mostly mailing lists+spam.pic.twitter.com/F7905JUg6z

Wikileaks does not even do a cursory check for malware in documents it dumps. This is a threat to dissident journalists who use Wikileaks.+

In general, if you're a journalist or activist anywhere, you probably should get a dedicated Chromebook & access Wikileaks docs only there.

Malware is often used to compromise dissidents. Dedicated Chromebook is a good idea—not just to protect against Wikileaks' irresponsibility.

"AKP email" fiasco showed Wikileaks will dump without vetting catch the news cycle. Someone may well use them to deliberately plant malware.

Malware & attachments issue is huge in general—for journos & activists— esp. since everyday tools like MS Office are a security nightmare.

If Google is your concern, create a "to read attachments only" Google identity. Chromebooks are cheap; get one. https://twitter.com/can/status/765229709072343041 …
