My NYT op-ed: As Trump talks up "rigged" elections, we MUST make our ballots paper again. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/14/opinion/campaign-stops/the-election-wont-be-rigged-but-it-could-be-hacked.html …pic.twitter.com/FXVNKR9IVv

Best way to counter fear-mongering is to take the oxygen out of anything shaky. Hence my op-ed: paper ballots now. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/14/opinion/campaign-stops/the-election-wont-be-rigged-but-it-could-be-hacked.html …
Seems to me the key question is how quickly can poll workers, and systems w/in which they operate, absorb change. I'm pessimistic.
Do people remember why we have electronic voting systems in many states?
Obviously, we shouldn't go back to hanging chads. Optical-scan paper ballots seem like a good middle.
My piece: Make Our Ballots Paper Again. Especially important given all this "rigging" talk. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/14/opinion/campaign-stops/the-election-wont-be-rigged-but-it-could-be-hacked.html …pic.twitter.com/i6lvsn2cr4
Claim that the election was stolen. It will be the new birtherism. https://twitter.com/buzzfeedandrew/status/764666038717906944 …
Only half the electorate "very confident" in accurate vote count. Can't function like this. http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/08/19/trump-supporters-far-less-confident-than-clinton-backers-that-votes-will-be-counted-accurately/ …pic.twitter.com/DhzfRwiLQe
It's even worse. Less than one third of the electorate "very confident" that votes "across the country" will be counted accurately.
There has to be evidence of rigging, not just fear of it.
You have to organize your elections in a way that such fear cannot take hold, or be deliberately stoked. Not the case right now.
