Trace the history. This new dump contains the emails that Wikileaks made searchable; it's what they're working with/from.

While everyone nitpicks because I was cautious in providing a roadmap, emails ALSO have private info & no public interest.

I’m prepared to defend you on that point. But you were certainly not cautious when you claimed that WL “dumped” the db. Just false.

I disagree. WL dumped it on the world. Not otherwise public or known. I picked vague but accurate word to avoid roadmap.

And you mean not known *to you*. Also, you must be aware that “dump” implies more responsibility than “link to”.

No, trace the history. This was a new "op." I consider repeatedly publicizing to millions as if part of "leak", "a dump" .

What you “consider” doesn’t change the meaning of words, tho. “Dump” implies possession, which is simply false.

So we disagree on that. I think it is a broader term, dumping this stuff on the world. That's all I can say to that.

And why wld you—completely unnecessarily—insist on a word that implies sth false when “link to” also implies responsibility?

As I said, and I'll end here. I wanted to not provide an easy roadmap while files hopefully got taken down, as they were.

I disagree that word was inaccurate; I agree it was vague. It was on purpose, I put protection on higher priority. /end bye

Then you’re uncritically declaring your bias to be more important than facts. Also, “dump” offers no more protection than “link to”.

"declaring your bias to be more important than facts" has come to be a trademark of NYT reporting
