hard to record an interview with a source with no battery in your phone. Or take notes on it.

For sensitive interviews: regular recorder with microSD/M2 card. Tiny card, easy to destroy.

Also, an iPod. Recorders & iPods are small. Moving away from multitasking on phone seems prudent.
