You are saying "algorithms" possess anthropomorphic traits. It's a bit like saying "cars" commit manslaughter.
Identify the source of the problem. 1) Even rule-based algorithms encode the biases of their authors.
2) Machine learning algorithms on the other hand, can also capture the biases of society. eg showing ads for better jobs to men, etc
