So little investment in much of the world's kids is awful. Guess we won't care till this model of "education" starts creeping here. It will.
Most everything currently ailing first-world's working folks was first tried out in poor countries with little choice to be experimented on.
We'll see the bifurcation. Poorer kids: warehoused in "schools" where a "teacher" reads off a tablet. Richer kids: enriched with tech. sigh
They'll see "an effect" at first. Look up Hawthorne effect. Any attention to these kids whose education is forsaken will produce an effect.
(Also tuition isn't that cheap for the country so you'll only see kids from most dedicated families with some resources. They'll do better).
One laptop per child was largely bust because not enough money was put in either teacher training or tech keep up.
They say you can't throw money at a problem. Nonsense. Look what the rich do. They throw money at their kids education & life.

$700 juicer that won't work without wifi gets $120 mil investment but we can't throw money at poor kids' education.https://twitter.com/katherinemiller/status/716108837615480834 …
