Talk of brokered convention even if Trump plurality+Trump vote partially comes from feeling voiceless=?? Then what?

Co-author of "The Party Decides" on why "the party" is struggling to decide on the R side. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/01/opinion/campaign-stops/why-cant-the-gop-stop-trump.html …pic.twitter.com/hwYZBjPfgF
For a long time, the social science puzzle was how the parties manage to hold their base (while betraying them economically) for so long.
"The Party Decides" (a good book!) is a study of how the elites learned to re-perpetuate their power, after 70s reforms threatened it.
In any open(ish) system with voting, there will eventually be challenges to elite stronghold on power. But history says: elites adjust too.
The "invisible primary" rose after the "smoke-filled backrooms" were no longer viable. You bet there will be a response to 2016, too.
Yes, I'm surprised it's Trump but I've long argued he was viable because something like his stances was the obvious GOP base/elite fracture.
Also the R primary calendar is front-loaded & greased for the front-runner (assumed to be who "The Party" decided.) But, this year, oops.
Also, "The Party" may yet somehow carry Rubio over the finishing line, but after all this, I don't see how the fracture goes away quietly.
