By its very nature being poor forces you to be comfortable taking on more risk. Some of the most fatalistic people I've met are working class people from third world countries. Happy to go on trips with no idea where or how they eat/where they will stay for example.

Uh. Is it? Because I grew up around high risk professions and uh… yea. You want evidence to the contrary but provide none of your own? I’d love to see what research you’re citing to say your position is a known fact, because I don’t believe it is.

I’d find the research fascinating that says “perception of life expectancy” doesn’t change risk assessment”, or, especially, that perceived shorter lifespans caused by occupations don’t factor in greatly to risk assessment of many other things as more minor risks
