It is progress but also gaslighting that they've said it all along. I was on the meeting where the @WHO experts yelled at us for suggesting airborne, and told us instead to "wash our hands fanatically".

I get the sense that you’re somehow disappointed that they aren’t still insisting it’s droplets and hand washing. That you’d be happier and feel more important if they were still “gaslighting”. Again, the sanctimony is rich in the air.

They ARE still gaslighting. And the real problem is that it communicates that no big changes in mitigations are needed since "it is the same they said all along"

Oh!! Is that what the distance/decay comment referred to?? I'd hope they have a better understanding of how these effects have (always) been taken into account by now 😬

I understand difficulty in quantitatively relating Ct values to viral load. But wondering if, to a rough approximation, one can interpret this as meaning viral loads for Omicron were about a factor of 10 higher than for Delta? https://twitter.com/miamalan/status/1473635534476132360 …

It’s laughable that you think you are providing a serious answer when you tell me your “model” has encompassed all possible uncertainties. I guess empiricism is dead..no need for bench science anymore? Virologists should shut their labs.. Leave COVID to atmospheric chemists! 🤓

Not sure how many times people have to say there have been many many papers on all this that you might try reading? Aerosol scientists have been cooperating with virologists, among others, from the beginning to explain the key, and yes, predominant role of airborne transmission.

“Airborne transmission” What does it mean? Never heard of it. Would you please lecture me and provide links to all relevant literature. Happy Holidays!

Apparently! You’re the one asking the most basic questions for days and then mocking people who were actually trying to earnestly answer and converse. And then calling it “laughable”, claiming stuff like they want bench science shut down, or think it’s irrelevant, or something?

I think there's a basic lack of knowledge that fluid dynamics *is* classical Newtonian mechanics + stat mech. One absolutely needs empirically measured parameters (super important), but that doesn't change the *relationships*.
