Again, you said "The bulk of the data suggests mainly droplet tranmission" - I don't see any evidence you have presented to support 'bulk' or 'mainly' in your statement.

And I think that's true. I have also said, over and over again, that the aerosol route is important. I have also said, repeatedly, that I suspect airborne transmission is dominant but that I am not as certain about that point as many here. You are welcome to disagree.

So you are saying airborne transmission is dominant and that the bulk of the data suggest mainly droplet tranmission??? No wonder everyone is confused!pic.twitter.com/stlNhQ3zRT

You're focused on the first half of the sentence. Please also read the second half.

The first half is part of the sentence.. where is this data you speak of???

Again (typo fixed): My view, not shared by many on this thread, is that proximity dependence is still an argument for droplet tranmission. Also: anticorrelation between handwashing and infection, and efficacy of procedure masks. I recognize that we don't all agree about that.

Saying proximity dependence is an argument for droplet transmission while neglecting for other pieces of evidence and basic physics is weak. More homicides are committed by victim's acquaintances than strangers means one should beware more of acquaintances??

I've never been hurt by an actual stranger, except in a car accident. Have you?

Anyway, perhaps not a productive analogy.

My take-away from all this: you think airborne transm is dominant + bulk of data shows it is mainly droplet transm + aerosol phys is not your field + it is ok to mansplain & mock a woman (who happens to be an expert on topic) re this. And cover is that there enormous uncertainty.

If, at least, that “uncertainty” was based on anything substantive… Alas.

Omicron is another kettle of fish, by the way. I'm persuaded that its transmission is overwhelmingly airborne. There's no other mechanism that could account for the rapidity of its spread.

all covid is spread airborne
