There is no vaccine for mono, and it most profoundly impacts the young. There is a vaccine for Covid, and it most profoundly impacts the elderly. Therefore, different responses are called for, especially when dealing with populations without broad demographic age ranges.

Here in Colorado, political leaders have dismantled our health departments because the don’t like what the departments have to say. Hard to depend on advice from public health officials if you’ve tied their hands or eliminated their jobs.
