Despite huge supply in the US, I’m hearing from people in many states that it’s not easy for the elderly to get a booster appointment now. Many places are full, apparently for weeks. I can’t confirm all the reports but seems important to look into? Especially outside few cities.https://twitter.com/NathanStall/status/1470181442273558528 …

This isn’t good! This is essentially a question of delivery, not supply. And the elderly are least likely to be able to hustle like this, but most vulnerable and in need of a booster before holidays.https://twitter.com/smithaprasadh/status/1470207769957568512 …

Seems to be the case in many places. Booster by appointment seem to be pretty hard to come by for weeks or more. This isn’t good. Again, the elderly need these shots most and are least likely to manage the hustle required to make something happen.https://twitter.com/angiewindheim/status/1470244135369990144 …

Yes but from the statistics and looks of it, it didn’t really happen widely enough. And now there’s a logistics bottleneck. Need pop-up clinics again, soon targeting more vulnerable groups.https://twitter.com/kevinchawkins/status/1470254085463056386 …

Around. Here so many of vaccination sites aren’t operating anymore so they pop up on the state site but have no availability or aren’t doing them yet

Had no problem with my two shots and my booster plus kid’s first shot at a local mass site. Yesterday for kid’s second shot, two-hour line out the front door. There looked to be about ten exhausted senior citizens giving shots. Demand is way up but also logistics failures.

Also rapid tests used to be everywhere and have now vanished. We’re back to a world where I have no clue how to even get tested if we wanted to

Young nieces in greater Boston recently had their first shot appointments cancelled due to lack of staff

I think the bottleneck is in people to administer shots So the increase in demand for kids, boosters and now the impending winter wave has limited availability for appointments in some areas (We had plenty of options in my area of FL, but it’s FL, so …)
