What this data shows is that protecting already vaccinated people from infection is a really bad idea.https://twitter.com/zeynep/status/1468347730133192708 …

I don’t see how any of this is relevant. Nobody is calling people leftovers. Elderly & immunocompromised people existed before Covid, too. All we’re saying is that we’re not going to attempt to avoid an unavoidable Coronavirus, especially when those attempts come with great harm.

They existed before and now there is a novel virus that is a great threat to them because it's novel. I mean, really? This is like saying why deploy the fire department, the house was there before. Because. There. Is. A. Fire. Now. And what's the great harm of vaccines?

Restrictions have made the world a FAR worse place to live over the last 20 months. Of course they were needed at times but the priority now should be getting rid of them and making sure we don’t have to use them again.

Nothing you’ve said here shows acceptance that this is endemic. Basically everyone here who I’m familiar with is absolutely on board with resources (vaccines, therapies, etc.) but you’re really just proposing perpetual restrictions or avoidance of something that’ll never go away

Of course not. And that group is highly vaccinated already.

Surely you see the gaping logical fallacy in this rhetoric, no?

Not great, but not as catastrophic as it could have been. Tested with 2x Pfizer, and shows, yeah, it'll cause a lot of breakthroughs. Those with vaccine *and* infection appeared much more protected: suggests boosters will work well.
